Sustainable Motorsport Alliance to Officially Launch at the Formula 1 British Grand Prix
Enovation Consulting has officially launched the Sustainable Motorsport Alliance at the BlackBook Motorsport Summer Reception ahead of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix.
During a successful two-year pilot with a select number of motorsport circuits, the not-for-profit Alliance has served as a networking platform and community to share sustainability best practice, as well as organising online and in-person learning opportunities.
Following the launch, the Alliance will expand its services and membership. This will include a learning platform and a number of sustainability playbooks to support the growth of the industry.
Silverstone, July 3rd, 2026 – Enovation Consulting – a B Corp-certified consultancy operating at the intersection of sustainability and sport, and a two-time recipient of the King's Award for Enterprise – officially launched the Sustainable Motorsport Alliance, a not-for-profit company, at the BlackBook Motorsport Summer Reception held at Silverstone Circuit ahead of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix weekend.
The Sustainable Motorsport Alliance will comprise a not-for-profit membership platform that provides sustainability resources and support while bringing together stakeholders from across the motorsport ecosystem to accelerate the adoption of best practices throughout the industry.
The Alliance provides members with opportunities to collaborate, share knowledge, and access practical support through quarterly insights on industry best practice, introductions to sustainable suppliers, networking events, STEM and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, and bespoke mentoring programmes.
Following a soft launch to a select group of leading circuits in 2024 — including Suzuka Circuit, Silverstone Circuit, and Sydney Motorsport Park — the official launch marks the opening of membership to a wider community of motorsport venues.
The Sustainable Motorsport Alliance will also be responsible for publishing the Sustainable Motorsport Index™, comprising the Sustainable Circuit Index (SCI™) and the Sustainable Championship Index (SChI™). The sixth edition of the SCI™ was released on 30th June, with its findings presented during the BlackBook Motorsport Summer Reception.
Developed in partnership with Prof. Paolo Taticchi, Professor in Strategy and Sustainability at UCL School of Management & Co-Director at UCL Centre for Sustainable Business, the SCI™ is the global benchmark for sustainability performance across motorsport venues. Based on publicly available data and aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other international ESG standards, the Index has become one of the motorsport industry's most respected measures of sustainability progress. Previous winners include Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Mugello Circuit, Marina Bay Street Circuit, Miami International Autodrome, WRC Rally Estonia, and WRC Secto Rally Finland.
