Job description:
In this role you will be joining a team of sustainability practitioners responsible for supporting clients in their implementation and monitoring of environment and sustainability strategies, frameworks and management systems. You will be working alongside an expanding team developing processes and providing support across a range of sustainability programs, ensuring that clients have the tools and resources to successfully deliver against their environment and sustainability goals.
You need to be highly organised, team-oriented, a fantastic communicator at all levels, and a great problem solver.
This role is offered as a hybrid position, with at least 2 days per week at our office in Silverstone and travel to customers/sports events. A membership for co-working space in London is an available for an additional day a week.
Main Responsibilities:
Responsible for projects’ delivery pipeline of the sustainability department and coordinating junior resources for allocated projects;
Responsible to delivery high quality sustainability work, including sustainability strategy, policies, workshops and transition plan;
Responsibility for research tasks, data collation, data processing and report writing;
Engaging with clients as part of a project team/project leads on large sports projects depending on Clients’ requests;
Supporting the development and maintenance of clients’ environment and sustainability strategies and frameworks;
Supporting the development, implementation and monitoring of clients’ management systems and KPIs;
Developing knowledge of sports and sustainability knowledge from both colleagues through continued professional development;
Contributing to the writing of thought leadership pieces;
Supporting with the project management, coordination and commercial responsibilities of projects.
Candidate Profile:
Essential
BSc/ BA/ MSc/ MA in environmental science/engineering/sustainability subject or similar (other qualifications accepted too);
Project management and coordination skills;
Proficient in MS Office;
Fluent in English (spoken and written);
At least 4 years of project management of which 1 in a management role and 3 years of sustainability;
A passion for sport and sustainability;
Flexibility to travel autonomously to client sites/offices where required.
Knowledge/Experience of ISO 20121 and/or ISO 14001 and other relevant environmental and sustainability accreditations;
Knowledge and previous experience of climate transition plans including climate risk mitigation, GHG calculation and reduction planning;
A passion for data driven solutions and innovative problem solving;
Knowledge of GHG calculation, UK and EU innovation fund, CDP and SECR reporting;
Understanding of climate mitigation, carbon reduction and sustainability resource planning;
Right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
Experience in working with sport stakeholders;
Further language skills (Italian preferable);
Project Management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, APM, PMP, CAPM);
A sound knowledge of the current regulatory climate;
Understanding of the latest key sustainability initiatives and thought leadership topics;
Experience of proposal writing, or other business development activities would be advantageous.
