  • Rieti is preparing to host the 2026 European Athletics Under-18 Championships with a vision that goes beyond sport.

• Sustainability, inclusion, and community are at the heart of the project, with Enovation Consulting leading the development of the event’s ESG strategy.

Rieti (Italy), August 28th, 2025 – During the institutional conference “Rieti Città dello Sport”, the city of Rieti will officially unveil the programme for the European Athletics Under 18 Championships, set to take place in the region from July 16th to 19th, 2026. Among the key players on the road to Rieti 2026 is Enovation Consulting, a globally recognised B Corporation-certified sport and ESG company, represented by its Founder & CEO, Dr. Cristiana Pace. The British agency will be supporting the Rieti 2026 Organising Committee in developing and implementing a strategy focused on effectively reducing the environmental impact of the event while promoting innovative and inclusive social practices.

Enovation’s strategy is rooted in education, engagement, and awareness. The company will deliver specialised and multilingual workshops for environmental volunteers and team members, designed to foster responsible and informed behaviours throughout the event. These efforts will be enhanced by joint initiatives with schools and local and national organisations, addressing crucial topics such as diversity, inclusion, and sustainability education. All materials - carefully curated for a broad audience that includes students, athletes, journalists, and industry stakeholders - will be available through Beyond Sport, a dedicated digital platform developed by Enovation to extend the event’s impact beyond competition, creating long-term cultural and educational value. Through Enovation Consulting’s efforts, Rieti 2026 will be the first Under 18 European Championship to implement an ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) framework specifically designed for sporting events, aligned with international standards and guidelines.

With this commitment, Rieti is preparing to host a major continental sporting event that, thanks to the support of Enovation Consulting, aims to leave a positive legacy for the region, for young people, and for the future of both national and international sport.

Dr. Cristiana Pace, Founder & CEO of Enovation Consulting:

Rieti 2026 represents a significant opportunity to consolidate and adapt an ESG model already applied within high-level sporting contexts, by bringing it to a European Under-18 competition. We are proud to support one of the first youth events to systematically integrate sustainability principles. Our collaboration with the Organising Committee is focused on embedding sustainability at the core of event operations, not as an add-on, but as an integral part of its success. Implementing a tailored ESG framework offers a practical tool to generate
measurable and transferable impact across different contexts and sporting events. The value of Rieti 2026 will be measured not only in athletic performance, but also in its ability to build skills, raise awareness, and open new perspectives for participants and the host region alike.
— Dr. Cristiana Pace

Riccardo Guerci, President of the Rieti 2026 Organising Committee:

With the 2026 European Athletics Under-18 Championships, we aim to create much more than an event: Rieti will become a hub for sustainability, inclusion, and social innovation. Thanks to our collaboration with Enovation Consulting - a global leader in sustainability in sport, supporting sporting events and organisations like Formula 1 teams and the World Rally Championships, with a proven track record in Italy at the ATP Finals in Turin and the Football Coppa Italia Final - and in synergy with local and national institutions, our goal is to leave a tangible legacy for the region and for young people, built on best practices, environmental awareness, and civic engagement. Rieti 2026 will show that sport can be a catalyst for cultural, economic, and social growth, offering our community, and Europe, a forward-looking model for future events.
— Riccardo Guerci
